At Ruby Jones, we are intentional about what we put out into the world. Instead of piling up inventory that may or may not find a home, we make garments to order—that means less guesswork, less waste, and more care poured into each piece. We don't over-produce garments we hope will sell—rather, we only make what you have told us is wanted.

How it works

When you pre-order, you’re making a thoughtful decision that you want a garment in your life—so much so that you'll wait for it. From there, we get to work. Each piece is cut, sewn, and finished just for you. Following the timeline given by our production partners, it takes about 4–6 weeks for the first orders to be ready. Following the initial production, some styles will be available to ship immediately.

The only exception? Our Casentino Gnome Hats. These are made personally by Ruby, and she will get those out the door in about 1 week from the time of ordering.

Why it matters

Pre-ordering means no wasteful overproduction and no stacks of unsold clothes. We contribute to the health of the planet by avoiding waste—and we can invest more in the quality of our materials with the money we save by only producing what is wanted. While waiting can feel long in a world of two-day shipping, we promise it’s worth it.

Waiting also changes how we relate to clothes. Instead of the quick-hit rush of fast fashion, waiting asks you to pause and consider if this piece is really the one for you. That shift makes the piece feel more special—and the wait gives you something to look forward to.
